Frequently Asked Questions

What is a giclee print?

The giclee prints I supply are high quality, professional inkjet prints. The paper is heavyweight 310gsm, archival quality and made in the UK. Although the inks are lightfast, its never a good idea to display prints (or any artwork!) in direct sunlight as they will fade over time.

What is an open edition print?

An open edition print is one that doesn't have a set number of reproductions. The are generally lower in price than a limited edition print.

What is a limited edition print?

A limited edition print is a print that has a set number of reproductions. Once that number has been sold then that print has sold out and no more can be produced in that size.

What do I do with a rolled print?

Rolled prints can be left in the postal tube until you take it to the framers.

If you want to frame the print yourself you'll nee it flat! To flatten the print, carefully remove it from the tube and, leaving it in the cellophane, unroll it and place it under some heavy books for several days and it will flatten out.

Do I need a mount?

Not necessarily.

Many prints can be framed without the need for a mount. It is possible to buy ready made A4 and A3+ frames which will fit a lot of my work (please check the sizes).

A mount does keep the print from touching the surface of the glass which may help prevent damage to the print. It also gives space between the print and frame which can often look better.

Many frames come with a mount which can be used with the print (it will just need attaching with tape). Remember to check the apeture of the mount to make sure that the print will fit inside. Send me a message if you aren't sure!

There is no need to order a mount if going to a professional framer.

Where can I get frames?

Frames can be bought from so many places!

Some places sell frames in metric measurements and others in imperial.

I tend to either buy frames from Ikea (metric) or The Range (imperial).

I have also bought from Etsy.

Please check the print sizes and frame sizes.

Send me a message if you wanted a mount cutting to a different size.

Do I need to go to a professional framer?

This very much depends on you! A professional framer will do a great job, they can advise you on what colour and type of mount and moulding to use for the frame. They will use the highest quality of materials and you will end up with something that is just right for you.

This all obviously comes with a cost.

Can I return an item?

Returns are accepted. Please get in touch within 14 days. Full information can be found on Shipping and Returns page below.

Why don't you post A2 prints flat?

Cost and the potential for damage!

All orders are available for collection from Loughborough which are all supplied flat.
